Crazy Jack have brought out Ready to Eat Plums, Apricots and Figs, which are moister than our regular dried fruit (which is of course, fine to eat from the pack too!) and have won awards at the food shows.
Lots of new yogurts - Rachels have some 4- packs, one shamelessly wholemilk as well as some low fat. Yeo Valley have changed their mixed packs too (coincidence?) with a pack of smooth strawberry based yogurts, and one with tropical fruits. The large Cranberry & Apple is replaced by Pineapple & Mango. I’ve split the yog section into Low fat & wholemilk to make it clearer.
Go Organic make lovely Soups in jars (which are down in price), we’ve also put on 3 Tomato pasta sauces and some lovely Curry pastes.
There are 3 new Gluten Free noodles to have with them, from the makers of the thin Rice noodles already on the list. We’ve had requests for Kallo’s Garlic & Herb Stock cubes, so try them.
Meridians Potato & Leek soup is replaced by Mr Beans version, equally lovely, and Gluten & Dairy free.
As it’ll be a hot summer (!) there are few new fizzy drinks for you. Belvoir ( pronounced beever) have 3 child-friendly fizzy drinks in 750ml bottles. Orange, Apple and Strawberry.
Also for the summer, 2 dressings, Caesar & Thousand Island from Meridian. Two new Luxury Ice-creams from Green & Black - Vanilla Caramel Nut, and Mint Chocolate..sorry!
Anthony Worral Thompsons Chutneys are rather special , Beetroot & Orange, Mediterranean Spicy and Onion Marmalade We have some Pates from Sunita -Green Olive and Almond, & Sundried Tomato, both in jars, not chilled.
We’ve gone to town on sweeties month, there are Organic Cola bottles (yes really!) and choc drops with coloured bits on, and wine gums, and there is selection of mints by Crazy Jack in rolls and tictac-like boxes in the same section (my boys had something to do with this addition!) they are with the Chocolate Ladybirds that some of you sampled.
Quinova is a Quinoa based addition to the chilled section available as mince and chunks. Its Quinoa and rice flour plus lactobacillus and Rhizopus culture, and is Soil Assoc certified.
Following the success of the chilled Grove Fresh Juices last list, we’ve put on the Grapefruit one as well. Talking of breakfast, Glutano, who make gluten free foods, have launched some Organic foods - Cornflakes (just corn, nothing else, no sweeteners) and Muesli (rice flakes, raisins, quinoa flakes, cornflakes, rice, figs, bananas, sunflower seeds, buckwheat & sesame)
Also gluten free are some Ginger Biscuits and Savoury biscuits from Village Bakery. From Toffutti 2 new Organic frozen desserts.
Dorset Pastry have a luxury range of organic frozen pastries with no additives at all, and using butter, in sweet, savoury and flaky versions.
